U.S. Bank Announces New Branch in Kansas City Area
KANSAS CITY, MO, (kansascityfrontpage.com), December 21, 2009 - U.S. Bank plans to bring more than 1,100 new jobs to the Kansas City metropolitan area, starting in the second quarter of 2010 when U.S. Bank will open a new Service Center in Overland Park. The U.S. Bank Service Center will be located at 12800 Foster St.

"This new U.S. Bank Service Center illustrates our growth and commitment to the Kansas City metropolitan area in the form of new jobs and a new future for this existing facility, which previously housed another company," said Mark Jorgenson, president of U.S. Bank in Kansas City.

"U.S. Bank selected the Kansas City area after an extensive national search. At the end of the day, U.S. Bank was excited and impressed with the labor quality in the Kansas City area, and we expect to draw top rate job applicants from the Kansas City metro. We are grateful for the support of the Overland Park City Council and Mayor, the Kansas City Area Development Council (KCADC) and the State of Kansas. The service center will provide good local jobs and will provide outstanding service to U.S. Bank customers," stated Jorgenson.

The U.S. Bank Service Center in Overland Park will be one of the bank's largest service centers. U.S. Bank currently has service centers located in Cincinnati; Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; Denver; Fargo, N.D.; Milwaukee; Portland, Ore.; St. Louis; and St. Paul, Minn.

"U.S. Bank is a global leader that could have chosen to locate this facility anywhere in the country, but chose Kansas because of our pro-business policies and highly skilled workforce. These are the assets we will continue to protect as we find responsible solutions to our current economic challenges."

U.S. Bank's selection of Overland Park for its customer service center brings more economic opportunity for residents and businesses. With more than 1,100 new jobs, Overland Park, Johnson County and metropolitan Kansas City all benefit. As Mayor, I want to thank Overland Park Economic Development Council, the Kansas Department of Commerce, KCP&L and the KCADC for their valuable partnership and assistance."

The hiring of new U.S. Bank employees for the new service center is planned to begin by the end of the second quarter of 2010. Additional new U.S. Bank employees completing various functions supporting numerous products will continue to be added throughout the remainder of the year. The new employees will be joined by 130 U.S. Bank Multi-Service Aviation employees who currently work at another location in Overland Park. Continued employment growth is projected to continue in the service center over the next four years or throughout 2013.

Additional employees from multiple lines of business within U.S. Bank will continue to move into the service center through the end of 2013. A total of 1,300 U.S. Bank employees will work inside the five-story, 185,178 square-foot service center. U.S. Bank will be the only company to occupy the building.
