Sprint Center Becomes New Home for KC Entertainment
Sprint Center has become Kansas City's new home for sports, concerts, family shows, collegiate competitions, tournaments and special events. The Sprint Center formerly opened October 10, followed by a sold-out concert, October 13, with Elton John.

As an anchor to a revitalized downtown Kansas City's Power & Light District, Sprint Center was developed as a unique public/private partnership between the City of Kansas City and AEG, operators of the venue.

Sprint Center will host approximately 90 public events throughout the year - and feature smaller rooms for private meetings, seminars, receptions, charity functions, graduations and other special events. Sprint Center can accommodate nearly any gathering, large or small. Nearly one million guests are expected to visit the $276 million state-of-the-art facility during its' inaugural year.

The College Basketball Experience, which features the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame as one component of the entire facility, also formally opened on October 10, at the Sprint Center, in advance of the NABC's second annual induction of new members into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame.. The CBE was founded by the NABC and the NABC Foundation.
